Mandelbrots CD release

The Mandelbrots, led by Joseph Burchett (left, Fire The Saddle), hold their CD release show Friday Nov. 6 at The Rudyard Kipling (422 W. Oak St., 636-1311). A cappella trio Sandpaper Dolls, who are in the middle of recording a proper full-length, open. 7:30 p.m. $5.

All ages collective Brick House hosts an open mic poetry slam Thursday April 16. Doors open at 6 p.m., competition begins at 7 p.m. The winner takes home half the door. Admission is $5.
