The Bronx
The Bronx (IV)
(WHITE DRUGS / ATO)
The explicitness of the label “punk” doesn’t exactly do any justice for this LA combo. This band is purely rock, and limit themselves with the former. Point aside, they will suffice to pissed-off teenagers, as well as nearly any other alternative demographic. It’s a great album, but there’s a plethora of albums available that sound just like this one. When you buy this music, it’s similar to buying, let’s say, Cee Lo Green’s Christmas album. You know what you get, concerning content, and the point is to hear the band’s particular rendition of the same ilk. Why The Bronx when I could listen to Banner Pilot, a Minneapolis quartet that produced work tantamount to the aforementioned? Why Banner Pilot when I could listen to Dead to Me? Bands like this have thorough potential, but come in detrimental bulk. —Sam Wilkerson
