BREAKING: ear X-tacy closed

ear X-tacy is closed without notice or explanation. Lights are off and there is no signage detailing the reason for today’s closure. Their Twitter and Tumblr profiles have disappeared. More details to come …

5:45 p.m. I posted on their Facebook wall, “Why are you closed?” at 5:26. It’s the first comment on their wall since 10:59 a.m. Friday morning, making us wonder if someone has been erasing comments today.

UPDATE: Comments have been posted on Facebook by others. No conspiracy there…

    This is sad but the writing has been on the wall for a decade, I remember asking John in the late 80s why he did not deal in used and and collectable records he said “there is no money in that” I remember thinking “no money in antiques?”

    Alan Rhody was supposed to have a CD release party there Saturday. Were they closed then?
