Daniel Martin Moore is an example of what happens when you don’t follow the rules. The Cold Spring, Ky., native sent a demo unsolicited to venerated indie Sub Pop, and the label signed him shortly thereafter. His new record, Stray Age, is available now.

Moore plays a free, all ages in-store show at ear X-tacy at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, before heading out on tour with Ben Sollee.
