Celebrating their third major studio release, Vetiver will be taking a break from their national tour with The Black Crowes to give a special performance at 21c Museum. Vetiver’s new album, Thing of the Past, breaks from the traditional covers album by paying tribute to little-known songs by little-known musicians who influenced band leader Andy Cabic. California-based, Vetiver is no stranger to experimentation and has shared the stage with Joanna Newsom, The Shins, Colm O’Ciosoig of My Bloody Valentine and Bright Eyes. Perhaps Vetiver is best described by occasional collaborator Devendra Banhart as an “impossibly ethereal yet terrestrial songwriting.” Vetiver has released three studio albums to date: Vetiver (2004), To Find Me Gone (2006) and Thing of the Past (2008). Current line-up includes Andy Cabic (songwriter, guitar and vocals), drummer Otto Hauser (also of ESPers), bassist Kevin Barker, guitarist Sanders Trippe, and Eric Johnson on keyboards and banjo.

King’s Daughters & Sons is a Louisville-based post-rock ensemble consisting of Joe Manning, Rachel Grimes, Michael Heineman, Todd Cook and Kyle Crabtree. From this collaborative band, you may recognize Manning’s solo work, Rachel Grimes from Rachel’s, Todd Cook from Parlour, Crain, Slint and Shipping News, and Kyle Crabtree of Shipping News and The Gold Jacket Club.
